It`s surely big. I didn`t expect to be that big but considering the zoom factor + small aperture, here we are.

I have to say, I don't like big lenses when I carry them around, but I do love them when I photograph. They make it much easier to shoot hand-held compared to small lenses.
Add to this, the focusing action of this lens is really smooth and precise. Almost like a Z lens. Large barrel means large focus throw, and I love that, because it is much easier to find the focus point.
