Hi,
probably as you heard I make a mistake and bought from user Socrates
two lenses (Nikon 50/1.2 and Nikon 70-300).
According our one week conversation, he lives in France (not sure at all),
his name is Mark Chevalier and he owns a Photo Store in Lacanau, France (lie)
VintageOpticsFrancé.
19 Allée Pierre Ortal,
Lacanau, France

I asked him to provide me with his ebay details and I get this link:

Click here to see on Ebay

I sent 675$ to his PayPal account VintageOpticsFr@hotmail.com ( Rolling Eyes )

and immediately received refund from this account.

He said, probably there are some problems with his PayPal account Exclamation

and asked me to send money to the new opened account wolvesofeurope@gmail.com

After PayPal proceed to his account he stopped to answer to e-mails, PM.. Evil or Very Mad

Ten days ago I've opened case in PayPal and today I received full refund. Laughing

Be carefull! Confused

At the mentionned adress, this is a restaurant, not a photoshop : http://www.restoenfrance.com/restaurant-357365-Chez-l-Australien.html
And there seems to be no photo shop around it.

yeah, but it did work only because he was lucky that the seller was not a professional thief.
A professional thief would have removed the money from the paypal account instantly.
Instead the money was still there, and this is the only reason why Paypal did refund.
pay attention to what Paypal wrote (bold/red are mine):

So much for those who think that Ebay and Paypal protect the buyer.
Their protection is useful only if the cheating seller is stupid enough to leave
the money on the account. Which means practically never, unless in very lucky cases
such as this one.
Paypal's claim that they have a "buyer protection" if fraudulent. It makes buyers think that they have an insurance
if they buy with Paypal. They don't. You don't. You can get a refund only if the seller has money on the paypal account.
Otherwise, Paypal openly declares it's impossibility to proceed to a refund.

It isn't true Orio. I had a case where the seller had removed the funds and Paypal did refund me nevertheless.

Yes and it was a $$$$ amount. Nevertheless I ALWAYS immediately transfer funds from my Paypal account to my bank bank account, as too much weird stuff happens at Paypal (account gets frozen for months etc.). Paypal is NOT a registered official bank!

Yes, not a bank so not regulated by any financial authority, they stole 489ukp from me. I would never use them again if there were other options.

This is the restaurant this thief was using as a fake address:

Dunkan Drijsdaale sounds Dutch or Flemish Belgian to me. What a lowlife.

Sounds made up to me - googling and a library search do not turn up either Dunkan or Drijsdaale as a existing name part in either language. The culprit probably is a native English speaker whose lame attempt at a Dutch-sounding name did not get any better than replacing a letter each in "Duncan Drysdale"...

Incredible story. Goes to show the risk of buying lenses in this way. Glad you got the refund. You were really luck I think.
