For a discussion on another board, I made some test pictures. Lenses were kept as similar as possible. All pictures were processed by Canon DPP with the same settings:

- Neutral picture style
- 0% sharpening
- 0% contrast
- 0% saturation

Can you spot the differences?

Canon 5D / EF 50/1.8 @ f/8
Canon 30D / EF 28/2.8 @ f/8

#1 seems "sharper" and shows higher contrast than #2.
#4 seems "sharper" and shows higher contrast than #3.

But I could not tell which cam is which. Since I guess that the 30D produces "finished" photos rather than the 5D, even with neutral seetings, I'd say that #1 and #4 were taken with the 30D.

I'll leave the others a guess as well, before telling if your guess is correct Wink

Canon 30D?

I used to have this camera and it was great !!! Superb!

I also have tried 5D once in my hands but not as many times as 30D

30D == fantastic camera -- professional level ...

30D has excellent rendition ..

But I have no clue which one is which Smile lol

On close up shoots like these no benefits from full frame in my opinion , hard part for all camera and lenses gather enough details from infinity distance.

#1 and #4 are from the 5D.

Attila, indeed the differences are very small here.

The only difference I can see is in the color blue the first 2 are faded where as the 2nd 2 have a little more "punch" Smile No idea what took what!

Wow! I got it right. The first time I've ever got any of these guessing games right, and I was too late to claim the prize ... what was it, btw?

Differences are very subtle but still visible to a careful examination.
(I too got them right BTW) Wink

That's what I had guessed prior to reading your answer. It is quite difficult determining image quality based on resolution when one is looking at images that have been resized for the web. The only way I could tell was the fine detail in images 2 and 3 seemed to "flatten out," whereas there was still a bit of depth left in 1 and 4.
