It is quite awkward to reach.

Thanks Bill, the M9 has an excellent dynamic range and the Zeiss Biogon records a lot of detail in both the highlights and the shades, so with these tools, a careful RAW shot and some Lightroom editing you can do without HDR.

Orio, you didn't miss any of my photos, that's Sophie Marceau. I should be
so lucky to take her picture. |

I guess you let the 35ZM mounted most of the time
I see sensor dust, is the M9 more sensible as it doesn't have mirror _________________ T* |

Yes, in fact also because it's the only M lens that I have, I use others with adapters.

Maybe you are right, it's possible that the lack of mirror makes dust worse.
I was spoiled by recent Canon cameras with the dust shaker, I need to get back to old habit of cleaning sensor _________________ Orio, Administrator

Well, there isn't much left of it I'm afraid
But sure the place is quite dramatic. The photographs do not render at all the feeling of the height of the place. I think I'll get back and try to take a picture that render better the height. The best standing point would be from the highway, but there is no place to stop with the car. _________________ Orio, Administrator

Very interesting photos Orio!
The lens seems amazing.
#1 with a bit of cropping would be plain mystery...
I think the sky color is not as smooth as with a 5D Mark II. Or is it a case of over-sharpening?
How much does the M9 cost?
How does it feel? Do you get enough value for money? _________________ Νίκος • www.diafragma.gr

Surely not oversharpening, I barely sharpen at all with the M9 (it does not have AA filter so it creates images that are sharper than Canon's).
In fact if you look at the full size of picture #2 you can see Moire happening on the highway barriers in the distance - it resolves that much!
If you see a noise issue in the sky it's most certainly a Lightroom problem. Lightroom 3 introduced new sharpening an denoise engines and by default pictures in LR3 look quite noisy.
I made fast conversions and probably did not pay enough care to fine tune sharpening.

How much does the M9 cost? |
a lot even if I did not pay VAT on it.
It feels great, it's a perfect camera for summer trips, for walking lightweight and unnoticed. As you can see, with a good lens, you may not even need a tele
- just crop what you want from the 35mm image

Do you get enough value for money? |
Yes, definitely. The image quality is terrific and the portability is fantastic. With a pocket camera I can make perfect 1 m. enlargement prints.
And focusing with a viewfinder is so much more precise than with a DSLR. I did not miss a single focus in the pictures I took yesterday. _________________ Orio, Administrator
