Hi there,

I have a couple of Meyer Görlitz Orest* zebra lenses in 50mm and 135mm.

I believe the series starts with a 29mm. I would love to complete the set. Are the 29mm's fairly common? Has anyone got one spare?

The 29mm was a Pentacon lens AFAIK Wink You can look for the 30/3.5 Meyer though...this can also be found branded as Pentacon Smile

Hi Graham. So the f3.5/30mm has the Meyer Gorlitz brand name and is a zebra, just like my others? It would be nice to match them Smile

Ah. Just done a search on ebay for Meyer and 30mm and it seems this is the famous "Lydith". Maybe out of my budget then Sad

Nope. Now I am getting confused. VM quotes:-

Orestegon f2.8 29mm
Oreston f1.8 50mm
Orestor f2.8 100mm
Orestor f2.8 135mm
Orestegor f4.0 200mm
Orestegor f4.0 300mm
Orestegor f5.6 500mm

So it's an Orestegon 29mm I'm after?

Pentacon 3.5 30mm and Meyer Lydith are the same lenses - haven´t seen a Zebra version yet. Lydit or Pentacons you get from dealers for 40 - 60 € in auctions for 20 - 45 €

I think Orestegon is also fine, no copy variation issue.

Looks like the 29/2.8 WAS made by Meyer as well then Shocked

I needed to go through 7 copies of the Pentacon to find one with reasonable corners Laughing The 30mm should be fine though and easy to get hold of...don't pay more than £20.00 though!

Hi, many thanks for the help, but I'll keep searching for the Orestegon thanks. It would be nice to have the whole Orest* set, but I think I'll have to save up for a long time to get them all Smile

If you are getting this one, be sure to use registered shipping. I once ordered a teleconverter from this seller that did not arrive. I rated the transaction "neutral" because of it... and now I'm banned at his shop.

Did you pay for registered sending? No? If not, why giving a neutral feedback? Things get lost during transit. Not often, but it can happen. And is it the shop owner's mistake if a customer does not want to pay for registration or insurance?

It's the seller's responsibility to ensure the package arrives, and to get protection must use a signed for service. If something goes missing in the post, the seller must pay up. However, if the buyer didn't receive the item but got their money back, they certainly shouldn't be leaving neutrals...

We're lucky in the UK as all parcels are covered for £41.00 regardless of whether they are signed for or not.

I don't know why you feel offended Klaus (at least thats how your statement reads)? AFAIR the seller only offered unregistered shipping and did not refund the money, so I left neutral feedback.

I dont think that we need a discussion here who is responsible or not. I just wanted to advise BRunner to use registered shipping, thats all.

Thanks.
