Although in my home town we have the national final every year, I enjoy more going to see the local preselections, because in the national final, you only see beautiful girls, while in the local preselections, you have the beautiful, the not so beautiful, the slim, the almost fat, the pretty face and the almost ugly face. In other words, you have a lot of variety
Plus, everything tastes so country, homebrew and forgotten: the location, the audience, the comments...
I went there with the M9 and the Zeiss Opton Sonnar 1.5/50. It wasn't the happiest choice. First because the ancient coating caused a flare festival (that in some cases, produced an interesting effect, but generally, it is annoying). Secondly because I found out that focusing a rangefinder in the night on fast moving subjects it is not a joke. So the final result is not as "polished" as it could have been with a reflex... oh well. It's all experience accumulated that teaches me something.
I tried to depict a bit of everything: the location (a village of 1100 inhabitants on the Apennine mountains), the audience, the show, the winning girls, the loser ones, the jury, etc.
Hope you can enjoy in spite of the technical quality not so exceptional.
Instead of embedding (it would take an hour), I made a web gallery. If you go to the right edge of the pictures, in the middle, an arrow will pop up that will let you proceed sequentially in the vision of the gallery. You can also use your keyboard's arrows for that.
It is recommended to see sequentally because the order is chronological.
Here's the link to the gallery:

what a treat Orio, thank you!
I specially like you included some shots from he village, and of the stage at daytime, what a setting.
some are quite hilarious, tugging in the stomach, showing off legs..
one the one with the single lady I like the 'rainbow' flare _________________ my photos on flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kuuan/collections |

I dunno Orio, even the more rubenesque ladies I found to be very appealing. To me, it would have been very difficult to choose a winner.
I thought the one shot with the very strong flare to be quite striking (the last shot on the first page). It looks downright SciFi, like a visible force-field barrier was erected in front of one of the ladies, stopping her in her tracks. _________________ Michael

The flare really creates an interesting effect!
Orio, I like these shots. Some of them are very atmospheric.
And there are some very attractive girls, but then, it's Italy, right?
Your experience also shows that an M-Leica is the instruments of real experts, not easy to handle but if you do, you achieve that special result. _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!
