Search for "Lepidoptera Quebec" or "Lepidoptera larvae Quebec" or visit the The Montréal Insectarium website.
Definitely Lepidoptera (butterflies & moths), looks to be in advanced instar stage, nearly ready to spin the cocoon...
I had good luck identifying a local larva by emailing University of California's Essig Museum of Entomology. The curator was very helpful forwarding my request to several eminent Lepidopterists, who with some initial contention(!) positively identified the larva in the very rarely seen 5th instar as Saturnia Mendocino. Two of my photos are now used by researchers around the globe! Here is one _________________ ☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮ like attracts like! ☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮

Thank you guys!
@Scott - it's not an Inchworm. It doesn't look like one.
@Sirius - I searched for the Lepidoptera Quebec. No resemblance.
I'll keep track of it because 5 minutes ago, looking at the same specimen ( eating my rose's leaves ) I noticed the head turned yellow. As you can see it was orange.
I'll take some pictures today if I have time. |

No, no apologies accepted. When you come in Canada I'll tell you were to buy the beer or some Aussie cabernet.
