Fantastic macro work, Haley. Shocked

These shots easily rival the best of the macro work I see over on POTN.

Nicely shot. My favourite is #2. Did you use any flash?

Aaah! I love these little things, also managed to find a few recently and capture them. Just love those big eyes and how they look. Also they tend to be jumpy by the camera flash.

Nice captures Haley!!...I thought since you were a Polaroid user , I was expecting them to have been taken with one of those Polaroids with the Dine macro lenses on it..Surprise, surprise !

thanks for the comments! i love jumpers and [insert word other than jump] at the chance to grab shots of a species i don't have. they're beautiful and quite friendly and curious if you treat them nicely.

a few answers:

i do use a flash at this magnification. i used the 580ex with a stofen omnibounce b/c i couldn't find my lumiquest softbox. it worked well.

i don't keep them from jumping on me at all, actually. they usually end up on the front of the lens a few times. it's a little more shocking when you're viewing them life size and they jump towards you. Smile

i think that if i were to shoot a polaroid of a jumper, my brain might implode.

Beautiful shots!
What lens did you use?

i used a yashinon tomioka 60mm 2.8 reversed on kenko tubes.
