Hmm... last time I met him was in 2007 and I can't remember him using a manual focus lens. ('')I've gone birding with him also in 2006.
Here are some of my fun birding shots using manual lens and maybe not to his caliber yet ('').
With Auto Chinon 55-300mm f4.5
With Hasselblad CZ Sonnar 150mm f4 + Sigma EX 1.4X TC

Thanks Bruce. Just by almost 7 years of constant BIF practice and the updated attitude (I used to curse a lot when I was just starting for missed shots and opportunities)(''). Now I just smile, charge misses to experience and thanks nature for the opportunity.

Hi Francotirador,
Not sure of its heritage but here's a pic comparison with my Bigma. It is sure quite large and heavy. Maybe Luis could do some comparative analysis.

Gil, You are a true sniper, in Spanish Francotirador.
With manual focus, is a great shot. Very difficult.
Congratulations. _________________ Canon 5D II-Sony nex 6

I moved my initial post down to feature gils work, since Romy Ocon is better known as an "af" shooter.
[his lenses cost a bit more more too ] My link to Romy's work, a world class birder, is now in post #3
gils work is just too damn good to be second fiddle. : _________________ Digital: Canon 40d & 5DmkII, Film: Hasselblad 203fe/Zeiss 80/2.8 cfe
