Hmm... last time I met him was in 2007 and I can't remember him using a manual focus lens. (' ')I've gone birding with him also in 2006.

Not sure of its heritage but here's a pic comparison with my Bigma. It is sure quite large and heavy. Maybe Luis could do some comparative analysis.

I moved my initial post down to feature gils work, since Romy Ocon is better known as an "af" shooter.
[his lenses cost a bit more more too ] My link to Romy's work, a world class birder, is now in post #3
gils work is just too damn good to be second fiddle. :
