The forest floor is starting to come alive with the Spring again. A lot of detail, but it certainly shows the species of plants that are starting to
emerge. Actually, some of them have "emerged" a month ago.

No enhancements to the image, although I think it needs some sharpening.

Incredible, as always, Laurence. More! More!

Your best combo for me, Yashica MAT + Provia. Unmatched luscious greens.

nicely found Very Happy

Thanks all of you. The moss groundcover really makes things tidy, like
Andy said. I think also, that this area flooded a few years ago, so the
pioneer species are just taking hold. Thus, the neatness of the groundcover.
Just my own wild guess. Very Happy

The Yashica Mat with its Yashinon lens holds its own against modern cameras.

The greens are fantastic. The image looks sharp enough at that size to me.

I see ferns unfurling in the bottom left corner. You have some flora a little different from ours. Lovely greens in a special place ...

Yes, it's okay at this size. Of course, looking on the light table, it's a BLAST
of greens and yellows with good sharpness.

Hi Fish - We are in a temperate rain forest region, with rainfall nearby
of 160 inches per year. About 14 feet, that is. Shocked

Actually, on the west slopes of Mount Olympus, the rain and snow
together gives a relative rainfall of 300 inches per year. Shocked
Shocked This results in active, healthy low-elevation glaciers, and
of course the verdant valleys.

The ferns unfurling are Western Sword Ferns. The clover-like stuff is
Oregon Oxalis. I can also see Skunk Cabbage, Hyperion Moss, Clubmoss,
Deer Ferns, Creeping Barberry, Cyclops Fern, and Trandle's Liverwort.

There is an association between the mosses and the Oxalis. The moss
provides acidic calcium to the soil for the Oxalis. The Oxalis doesn't really
need the extra calcium, as it grows ubiquitously wherever there is the
right combination of shade, mottled light, and nearby evergreen trees.
In the case of the evergreen trees, there are tiny fibers called Mycorrhiza
which provides the interchange between minerals and soil production, and
the Oxalis thrives on that.

Provia: this time you're talking real Italian cheese, not that nasty Velvia "cheese" product ... Laughing

Love it, Provia says it all. Laurence, this looks like a landscaped garden. Do
you go out in the woods and plant these? Laughing

I see Andy thought the same thing. Wink
