Lovely.
This is a good child picture, because the picture itself is playful and not serious.
Really a work to show as example of how to photograph children.

Thanks Orio that to me is a fine compliment.
It's difficult sometimes to Photograph the younger children especially.
I wish in the first I had the framing to include all of her but, I'm happy to have the smile instead.

moments later just another failed snapshot of a child Wink

I got this gem from Bella also that I'm using as an avatar at RFF and DA.
Total attitude I love it!

iso 800 looks pretty darn good on that ol' rd1! perhaps it;s the lenses, or just that my picture taking skills stink, but i cant get that level of detail out of the ep1 in low light at 800...

Second one is good also for me, does not matter if she doesn't smile, the context is still playful. Or understated, as you prefer. Lively, not posed.

First shot is indeed special, but I like them all. Well done, Andy!

Thanks for the comments guys.
She is a fun kid really.
The hands on hips shot was not staged either. She was collecting snails from the garden and then getting on this chair to squash them with a jump.
You can see the jar behind her in the shot. It's the snail prison.

The Dialog was like this.

Andy:
"Bella why are you torturing those poor snails"

Bella:
"I'll squash you too camera boy"

No joke that is exactly as I took this shot Laughing

The attitude is all real.

Step off camera boy Laughing

Mixed feelings about the snails, but the pictures are great! Charming little model helps, pleasant colors.

Great shots. I agree the first one would be better with a slightly larger framing on the right, but I also agree with Orio that the second one is nice too, in its own way. And the third one ("camera boy") totally rocks!
