The one on the right:

replete with pictured biker leathers, lol, but not the lens

In near mint condition with new lightseals, but he says it would be a good
idea to replace the mirror foam. I generally do that anyway when resealing. $65, includes shipping, and a Nikon flash, too.

Good deal. The 50/1.4 AI usually sells for more than what you paid for all
of it.

The FE/FE2/FM/FM2 cameras are my favorite Nikons.

Thanks, DOF, I'm still thinking about the FE2.

Fe2 supposed to be a great camera, but I passed on Nikon because of the silly prices for their (and other) lenses, and have a Nikon N2000 and EM not used (well I only have a Nikkor 50mm) until I can find a reasonable priced adapter for my Tamron lenses.

Nice catch, Bill. Good light Smile

Cheers, Marty.

Excellent, Bill! The FE is my first official Nikon (though I've used son's EM) and I just love it - the viewfinder indicators are just right, and it has enough leeway with the automation to be fun - the FE2 adds automations that are good from one POV but also limiting from another. Plus, the FE lets you use non Ai lenses.

I like the black, mine's silver...

My congratulations too, Bill, but I dare to not agree with Attila. Pentax is the best camera maker ever, of course! Laughing

Congrates on what looks to be a fine copy of one of my favorite Nikon SLR's....my first one FE was bought as a backup to my F2,but became one of my favorite travel cameras back in the day....so much so,that I acquired a few fine copies of the black FE's at a decent price about a year after the FE2's came out.

My first chrome version still see's use and last year, one of my daughters started using one of the black FE's as her main film SLR.I offered her a FM2n or a F3,but the matched needles of the FE's light meter suited her fancy.

here is the 4 page ad that introduced the FE in '78

Congrats! FE is also my favourite SLR camera.

The Samsung NX-10 shows, that Nikon could build a FE-sized DSLR if they wanted to, at least with an APS-C sensor.

Wow, thanks, fellas, way to many to cite individually, but Jussi thanks for
the adverts. Ron (Schnauzer) good to see you back, buddy!

I'm getting the camera from a friend at NikonCafe, so it will be a shooter
right out of the box. Downloaded the manual, but doesn't state what
silver oxide battery, thinking the SR44 should work, it already has good
batteries in it, so no big worry. He's finishing a roll and posting some pics
from the camera at NikonCafe for me.

Have several Nikon lenses and am after a few Series E lenses right now.

Thanks again.

Laughing Markku, they do: it's called a Pentax

Well, still waiting for Mark to finish the roll in the FE, but the FE2 arrived
today along with the S-1 28-90 zoom. Shot a roll of CVS 400, will see
what shakes in a couple hours:

Excellent Bill. And to think you are just starting with this camera. I expect great things to come.

You didn't scan this yourself? What do they charge to scan? Did you have them scan to a disc or what?

Ron, thanks, I'm really liking the S-1 zoom with this camera. The flower
baskets if I recall were at 28mm, and I don't see any distortion. I'm not
getting any love for this CVS film, will try it in other situations and see
what happens. I have some Fuji 160S Jussi sent me that I need to try as
well.

Ron, forgot, yes CVS scans to CD, about $5.80 something. Can't remember
what sales tax was in Maine, but should be under $6. Ask for the CVS CD,
not the Kodak, which is a couple bucks more.

Thanks again.
