Crying or Very sad

Today is a sad day, because I sold my beloved SMC Pentax-F 100mm f/2.8 macro. The best macro lens I have ever owned; all of my macros in the Pentax Photogallery have been made with this lens:

But... surely this lens will be replaced? Yes, of course! And with a manual one of course. But more on that tomorrow... Cool Wink

When you say you've jumped, do you mean you've jumped over The Wall? Shocked

This was the dead giveaway as Peter cited my old thread when I bought my Apo Lanthar 125mm!

Me too, but that was in December 1989 - that shot was taken last April Wink

I've never been back to Berlin, I guess I will miss the cityscape with all of those plastic (and of course smelling!) 2-stroke Trabants!

Oh don't worry, they're still there! I saw several, including a stretch limo version with six wheels, and one can even hire a Trabi and do a tour of the former East Berlin with other like-minded individuals! Before anybody asks, no, I didn't Wink

Are any portions of the wall still standing? I hope so. Reminders are a good thing. I find it very true what is said - "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it (George Santayana)". Our youth here in the US are not good history students and I fear will think some of this nonsense new ideas.

There are some portions of the wall still there, but there was more to it than just the wall itself, and there's no sign of any of it now click here for more.

Apologies for the unannounced thread hijack Peter - we shouldn't dilute the good news of your excellent choice in macro lenses!!! Embarassed

It's dangerous to lay your new lens in the grass like that Laughing Laughing Laughing

Congratulations with that famous lens.
I think you are too pessimistic about portraits with it, for your young daughter it is just acceptable. May be a little postprocessing can be added to "improve" the result. But for portraits of stepmothers etc. I presume it is not the best instrument.

Until you have watched a full-HD porn movie shot with the Voigtländer. I think you will grasp the concept then Smile

The previous owner never used it (it sat in the closet for two years because he changed systems), but it's in good hands now!
