Thank you Attila. Smile

I actually had to use a piece of rope I had in the car to be able to lean
out over the canyon. I would have preferred a better depth of field,
but holding the camera with one hand required me to get the shutter
speed high enough to hand-hold the shot. Ideally, I would have loved
to have f:8 or higher. I think this was about f:5.6 or maybe f:4
with the Pentax-A 55/2.8 lens.

Sometimes we go to great lengths just to get a composition the way
we want it to be. Shocked

Great shot, Laurence! I miss seeing trillium, lady slippers, when I lived on
Talache Road south of Sandpoint.

Excellent work!

Bill, thank you! I will be out soon with my CV 90/3.5, hoping to
capture some good spring images. The adapter for screw-mount
is a wonderful addition to my equipment, and it is currently mounted
in the Pentax ZX-5n, which is actually a pretty remarkable little
camera (for being plastic and all). Very Happy

Laurence, had to Google what Pentax camera that was, glad the adapter
will be working for you! Smile

Laurence, the difference between your undergrowth pictures and other similar i have seen : the others are only good photos, yours have a poetic quality, that is so much yours - your "fingerprint".

Bill, the ZX-5n is a neat little camera. Not very well built because of the
plastic, although the lens mount is metal. I love the "wheels" to turn to
set up my own manual aperture and shutter speeds. It's lightweight and
quick.

What I like BEST though, is the viewfinder. Although not a split-image
type, it is so BRIGHT that I have no trouble manually focusing at all.

For kicks, I tried the Auto Focus 35-80 that came with it. The images
were soft, especially around the edges. No comparison to even my
old Soligor C/D 35-70, which beats it hands down.

So, as I said, the adapter is wonderful, and I thank you again Bill.

I am anticipating some fun using my manual focus lenses on the ZX-5n.

Interesting that you say that - I've had locals tell me the same thing,
although I'm not really sure what aspect of the images shows my
own "fingerprint".

That said, I do see a personality on your black and whites that speaks
to your own fingerprint.

These b/w photos are ANSEL ADAMS', Laurence. I am glad that you didn't recognize them. That means that you don't copy them.

I saw ANSEL ADAMS' work on Sunday. Greeks can see his best 72 pieces.

When I was in front of Ansel's flowers, your work came in my mind and I said to a friend of mine, "these are not Adams', these are Laurence's".

Keep on Razz

Hah, you GOT me on that one! Well...at least I'm recognizing excellence
in an image. That is a wonderful compliment from you, and I wish I
could see his work "in person" as you have in Greece.

On another note, I very much hope that Greece can get back into
saving it's financial problems. It's hopefully not a precursor to the
Euro going down the hill. Good luck to all of you in Greece, and I
hope your legislature can overcome this obstacle. Sad

It's a true statement; your images have a certain color and "clean"
look to them that is very individualistic and wonderful to look at.
