Just bought this from an RFF Member. Opton Tessar f2.8/45mm got my attn.
As did the built in RF even if it is uncoupled.
Said to be in excellent nik. I'm stoked

I have the 524/16 with a 75mm f/3.5 Opton-Tessar. Wonderful machine, though I wish it was a coupled rangefinder. It is lighter than the Ikonta B's, the cold shoe is handy for attaching my Voigtländer VC Meter II on it. The camera belonged to my grandfather, needed only some cleaning and lube when I resurrected it from 30 years of sleep some years ago.
45mm, so it is equivalent to 24mm lens on 35mm/FF DSLR? About 80-85 degrees angle of view? Wow.
Really do look forward to seeing some 120 film results with it. I've never had the opportunity to shoot that wide lenses on medium format. _________________ Vilhelm

It's a beautiful camera and seems to be in wonderful condition. It's a 35mm folder, of course, like the Vito.
Despite looking so classy, I believe this was a fairly basic part of the range, wasn't it? _________________ View or buy my photos at:

Thanks for comments folks.
Yes it is a 35mm camera. This one does happen to have a RF built in and is a folder.
Most of this line were rigid with no RF. One or two had selinium meters.
Here is the camerapedia page.
It will be fun to shoot. I like the look of Tessars more on medium format but, expect good results here also.

Aa, so it will give you the same perspective that I get with 75mm on medium format. You are in for a treat, the Zeiss Ikon rangefinders are wonderful machines, engineering is hand-felt. _________________ Vilhelm

I am currently shooting my first roll in a rigid-body Contina II to test some
work I did on it. It has no RF but it's fun to use and has a quality feel. |

Congratulation Andy. Let see some samples. I am curious how the Zeiss Opton Tessar performs on this baby.
My ZI Contina does not have a RF, it was a front cell focusing folder with Novar Astigmat lens. Sold it not long ago. It was fun to use. One weird thing though, I got all 36 frames exposed correctly with this, more than what I got with my Zorki (sold) and Leica III.
