I still have no idea about how to service the shutter cocking & film transportation rod though. I think the action could have been more smooth and in both cases the rod needs a little help to return to the upward position. Any ideas?
The Ikoflex looks better than it is. The shutter is still spot on, but the focusing is VERY stiff. I have no idea about how to reach the rack & pinion focusing mechanism. I wanted an Ikoflex because the (easily found) Rolleicord is just too common to my taste. And a Tessar is just way cool

I have only used the Vitessas "dry" at the moment. What I don't like about them is that the shutterspeeds and f/stops are coupled (light value). What I like about them: focusing is easy and the rod for film advance/shutter cocking looks awkward at first, but you really get used to it.
I expect to expose some film this weekend!
