I have just finished cleaning the shutter of the Voigtlander Vitessa L with 50mm f/2 Ultron. A very rewarding experience! Here it is next to the previous and next restoration projects (the Voigtlander Vitessa N with 50mm f/3.5 Color-Skopar and the Ikoflex Ia with 75mm f/3.5 Zeiss-Opton Tessar.)

I still have no idea about how to service the shutter cocking & film transportation rod though. I think the action could have been more smooth and in both cases the rod needs a little help to return to the upward position. Any ideas?

The Ikoflex looks better than it is. The shutter is still spot on, but the focusing is VERY stiff. I have no idea about how to reach the rack & pinion focusing mechanism. I wanted an Ikoflex because the (easily found) Rolleicord is just too common to my taste. And a Tessar is just way cool Wink

Fantastic. Really nice to see the effort gone into renewing life on these. Been there, done that - results were reward for all the hours I put into mine.

I'm glad you're fixing these beauties, and what AWESOME cameras these are - each of them is on my bucket list Wink as objects of irrational desire.

How is the Vitessa in use? Do you have some sample photos etc?

Thank you all!

I have only used the Vitessas "dry" at the moment. What I don't like about them is that the shutterspeeds and f/stops are coupled (light value). What I like about them: focusing is easy and the rod for film advance/shutter cocking looks awkward at first, but you really get used to it.

I expect to expose some film this weekend!
