This box came as an added bonus in a box of photo goodies I bought today.
The Sakura Box was made in 1931 by Rokuoh-Sha, the manufacturing company of Konishiroku Honten, which later became Konica. The (wooden) box was cheap, but well made. The front surrounding the shutter (unfortunately the top part was broken off on this one) is made of Bakelite.
Despite being cheap in 1931, it is said that the box is very uncommon today. I have been searching for sales data but nothing came up at all. I suspect that most sales are to be found in Japan, are there any Japanese members who have a clue as to its value?
