This time it would be Leica copy. Russian FED 2B with Jupiter8 2/50 (Sonnar copy). Photo below shows focus pointed on lens, very unusual - combination of zeros and ones in former USSR regarding serial numbers of photography equipment means only one: this is a prototype lens. Regarding design of the lens body - late prototype. Interesting lens and a very good performer. Jupiter was made only for Leicas and Contax Russian copies, never in M42 or M39 mount. Leica tread mount is also 39mm but we describe it as L39 not M39

Maybe for someone it is common situation, for me something quite new. Typical for old models of Leica and its copies - Russian and also Canon, Nikon. Different way to roll the film inside camera - CW instead CCW as is common in SLR and most of rangefinders.

Samples, - not photos for receiving CC, I am not very happy with them.

Like the FED shots of your daughter and all the Canonet shots. Need to
find another GIII sometime. Sent mine to a friend who's a much better
photographer than I am. Laughing

Are the Canonet shots done in your house?

I have a roll of Arista Edu 400 loaded in one of my Konica T4's. I like
your results!

I've been thinking about getting a FED2 for a while. I can't find one in the condition that I like.

That Canon looks very good. I'll add to my wishlist. Laughing

I like much the last photo, that's quite a photographic "3D" for sure!

Nice cameras, and I can see why the Oly is your favorite. Beautiful b&w work too.

Wow, is that just ambient light? If so, what speed of film were you using?

My best rangefinder so far, leica screw mount
Canon 7 with Canon 1.8/50

Only one sample, Arista Edu 400. But this sample shows that it is quite different camera compare to rangefinders shown above.

Now - biggest surprise lately. Petri Orikkor Kuribayashi were always good lenses but here using
Petri f1.9 CCS with Orikkor 1.9/45 I am really satisfied regarding quality of the images

samples, Arista Edu 200

Indeed. Why have colour unless it adds something.

I've found a great site for Russian cameras: www.fedka.com All the cameras are tested and repaired before selling and the prices aren't bad at all,

Great stuff - and I actually like the shots taken with the FED because they have a distinctly "old" feeling about them.

But, Oh Dear! - those metal snake chain neck straps will really spoil the bodies if you're not careful Crying or Very sad

Excellent work !

Very interesting comment on the Petri. These are quite common and very cheap. I like that in a camera.

i like 'em all, but especially the petri shots.

I love B&W. Especially the low key pics, with it atmosphere so...so....dramatic and beautifull.

Nice taste Voytek.

Rino.

Thanks to Voytek's post, I got this off the 'bay, very cheaply:

Petri 28

Replaced light seals, felt hinge pad, and am very happy with the results.

Thanks, Voytek! Smile
