I didn't buy what I had hoped, and now I have this lens.
I have no idea about the mount - has anyone ever seen this?

It's Praktica B mount...

It's a Praktica B mount. The lens looks very similar to my Prakticar 28mm f/2.8.

It's a Meyer-built, Pentacon Prakticar 28/2.8, made after Carl Zeiss Jena took them over in 1985.

I have used Praktica B-series cameras and lenses professionally for many years, no complaints at all!

That's cool to hear. I already tested 2.8/28mm, 2.4/35mm, 1.8/50mm, 2.8/135mm on my Pentax K10D and results are superb. The glass handles strong sun light with ease.

if you have a Canon DSLR or a Panasonic G1 you can use this lens.

I don't believe Pentacon ever made this lens in M42 mount. Are you thinking about the M42 29/2.8? Different lens.

Pretty good idea i must say! I've done it to Pentax PK, but this is even more compatible.

The M42 Pentacon 29/2.8 was rebranded to Carl Zeiss Jena 29/2.8 for a short period, but I'm not aware of an M42 version of the 28/2.8 - although this seems to insinuate that the it's a slightly modified version of the same thing Laughing

See the enlarged version of this one:

You can still see the red dot on the lens barrel for lining up with the red dot on the camera for bayonet fitting.

i had the pentacon version, not a good performer on my criterias

moreover, there is no adapter for B mount to EOS, so impssible to focus on infinity

Hi Nelson. It is said Prakticar glass is improved compared to older Pentacons (though cheaper materials are used for lens chassis) and quality also does not varies so much.

Different PB / EOS adapters exist that enable infinity for a while now. I managed to make Pentax PK conversion (with infinity on these primes 2.8/28mm, 1.8/50mm, 2.8/135mm).
