I just love your morning walks , you are living at a so beautiful place. Nice clear images this CZ zooms are amazing I think nobody can recognize these are not primes.

you probably mean that most primes can only dream about such quality
only distortion is quite important

Laughing Exactly.

Congrats for this lens.
It has become my favorite walkaround-lens.
CA and distosion @ 28mm is visible, but with PP in Photoshop it's a minor problem. From 35mm onwards, it is superb without PP.
Hope to see more of your fine photo series. Have fun with it.

Very Happy

This lens is said to be one of the best zoom lenses ever.
Congratulations!

hey rolf

as always, i love your eye and photos, and am always happy when you take us along on your morning walks. Smile

i have to be honest though about the lens. i have one also, and i know its supposed to be one of the best ever zooms, and it certainly is priced like one, but i remain unconvinced that it is significantly better to the eye than say the yashica ml 28-80, which i also have and is about 1/3 the price and half the size. that is not to say, like you, one can get very nice results from this lens, just that i question its place in the pantheon of lenses...

For me, the difference between the ML line and many other lenses, and the Zeiss lenses, is the 3D "pop" the Zeiss range gives. The images just look different to me. It's a subjective thing I guess, but the minute I tried the Distagon 28/2.8, I knew I was in trouble!

I have just purchased a pretty much brand new and boxed CZ 35-70/3.4 and I can't wait to start shooting with it Smile

yes graham, i agree on the planar 50/1.4 and the 80/1.4. i can even see a small difference on the distagon, though not nearly as much. but i really dont see it at all on the zooms; again, maybe its just me. but when you add the huge difference in cost and bulk vs ml's, you should not have to look so closely to see the difference. Laughing

Hi Rolf.

Congrats to your new lens ! Smile

This is a small tank - but it's a great lens -- especially at the F=80

It's sharp like a razor and contrast is a la Zeiss ..

Enjoy.

Excuse my ignorance, but what mounts is this lens available in, and what mounts could it be adapted to?

Many thanks, Kris.

Kris - that's the Contax/Yashica bayonet mount - easily adaptable to Canon EOS mount as the best option ..
