If I remember correctly, the Tamron 90mm Adaptall is a bit sharper but the Cosina has better contrast.

You are probably right about the tube, but this matched adapter seems to be really a good performer (look at http://www.techtheman.com/2008/06/cosinapentaxphoenixpromaster-11-matched.html) ...

I think value for the money is guite good dispite the plastic feeling of the structure.
