d700... do you mean nikon d700 ?
if you mean nikon d700, the answer is no !
you probably must modify the mount of the lens but i am not sure if this thing can be done !
-rollei sl35 ... yes is the only good working ff made by rollei ... but ugly viewfinder... i have 1 sl35me and 2 sl35e and all these are defect !!!!!!
-planar 50 1.8 is very good but the carl zeiss ultron 1.8/50 is better (m42 version is more easily usable)...there is another variant of planar 50 1.8 hft that is called color-ultron...same lens
-stay away from rolleinar 135/2.8 ... i prefer my yashica ml 2.8/135 without red "c" !!!!!
-ultron 50 f1.8 ... do you mean carl zeiss ultron 1.8/50 with the concave front element ?
if the answer is yes is a very good lens !! _________________

Not many people know it, but the Rollei Planar 1.8/50 was designed by Erhard Glatzel, which is probably the third most important lens designer of all times after Cooke and Rudolph. Glatzel was the "father" of many lenses that made the history of optics, such as the "Hollywood" Distagon 2/28, the Distagon 1.4/35, and the Distagon 2.8/21.

Vetrofragile (where does the nickname come from? ), on the forum, only English please.
I have no idea about the viewfinder because I never handled a Rollei SL.

Nice to know that you are in Cesena, if my count is correct we should now be 3 emilians and 2 "romagnoli" in the group

_________________

the viewfinder of rollei sl35 is ugly, dark and with wide angle lens, is difficult to do the focusing because there aren't any form of split image spot prism.
also with sl35me it is difficult to do the focusing (the split image spot prism is present)
i love only the viewfinder of rollei sl35e, it is more bright than other !
but stay away from these film cameras !
often this film cameras (sl35e) will defect using it !
the self timer can defect
i have 2 rollei sl35e with shutter problems.
the shutter blades of this cameras (sl35e) can lose the synchronism !
the blades of shutter can have some bounces .... they can move retorts !
so the pictures can have dark/clear strips (positive/negative film) ... often in the bottom of frame !
the first version of the ultron is for rangefinder cameras (prominent) and its focal length is 2/50mm (for many people prominent is not easy to use)
the second version is exactly a carl zeiss ultron 1.8/50mm with the cocave front element. it has been realized from a doctor of the voigtlander 's team.
it was used with this film cameras: Zeiss-Icon/Voigtlander Icarex (BM and TM)
stay away from these film cameras !
I have one icarex that is defect now !
often this film cameras can defect !
the automatism of the diaphragms can defect
I have the prism of my icarex with the unglued painting…
the third version comprises: color-ultron 1,8/50 and the rollei hft 1.8/50mm (they are equal)
hft = high fidelity transfer ! _________________

Very interesant.
I had only one SL35E and was defective in the automatism. I agree, very clear finder (and the SL 35 very dark).

The night shot is superb, Mike. Exposure and framing spot on. |
+1. Like the shot a lot. What film did you use? More than 1 minute exposure? _________________

Fujifilm Superia ISO100, about 25sec.
I have Canon 400D + CZJ Flektogon 35/2.4 MC shoot at same time, attached below. I love the film one which has more detail.
