Tonight I was bored and a bit disappointed because the skies are overcast, so I couldn't take any pictures of the moon. So I began looking for other subjects. And then my eyes landed on an interesting set of shapes.
How often do we notice what it takes to provide us with our power, telephone, cable television, and broadband internet? Sometimes the confusion itself can be captivating.
Century Precision Optics 500mm f/5.6 @ f/5.6, ISO 100
Century Precision Optics 650mm f/6.8 @ f/6.8, ISO 100
The subjects were about 250 meters away. Here's a 100% crop of each.

I love these old lenses. _________________ Michael

Hi Rolf,
Yeah, I posted a few test shots using the CPO 500mm several months ago. I've never posted any shots here with the 650mm though.
Yes the USA is a high-tech country, but when it comes to our infrastructure, it seems that, until we absolutely have to, we add new stuff to the old stuff, rather than replace the old with the new. Reasons for this get political, and I'd just as soon avoid any political discussion in this forum. _________________ Michael

I understand. No problem here. I have a sense of humor, fortunately. _________________ Michael

I agree. Especially considering that these shots were taken with the lenses wide open.
One nice thing about these lenses is, because they have manual apertures, they also have many-bladed irises, so the bokeh are soft and pleasing to look at. I should post some shots showing this. _________________ Michael
