Anyway, back to my original goal, I popped out on Friday to take some night shots, but with the zoom this time. It handles nicely, but has some distortion at the 28mm end. Will take a prime next time!
#1 - Some snakey curves...
#2 - Under the subway
#3 - Outside the West Quay complex
#4 - At the traffic lights
#5 - Down the hill, towards the railway station
#6 - Past the BBC South HQ and down the hill
#7 - The Guildhall behind the trees

Yup, that's the one. It's only the second time I'm used it in earnest, the previous being a railway exhibition (there's a thread here somewhere). It's a nice lens alright
I think most distortion was actually me forgetting the rules of photography and shooting up at buildings! But it was an enjoyable shoot

Ah! Okay, well that's "normal" distortion. I was looking for evidence of pincushion or barrel distortion and didn't see any. That sort of distortion is somewhat more worrisome and can't be corrected by photographic technique -- at least not without post processing.
