If the weather stays as nice as today, we will go to a mediaeval festival at Marburg castle tomorrow.
It's theme is "barber-surgeons, healers and medici".
My mom stays at our place this weekend, so I might find some time to shoot, since she loves to take care of our daughter.
Keep your fingers crossed, mates! _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!

Thanks!
It was really great. All this strange food, all these colourful clothes...
We were there 5 minutes before it opened (11 am).
The only problem was that it got so crowded after about one hour that shooting was no longer possible, really.
I did not have the time to process my RAW files (and will not have the time to do that for quite a while, I'm afraid). But here are some quick JPEG impressions, shot with the Nikkor-O 2.0/35 or the Jupiter-9 2.0/85.
The smith and a guard
A "Garbrater" (some kind of BBQ)
The oriental section
A Medicus' tools
The basket maker (He was great! A really nice guy!)
A stonemason
A herold (also a great guy!)
The Smith who got in trouble because of fornication.
A monk and healer
Two scholars
A silversmith
And some knights. Unfortunately, their "show" started after we had left.
As you can see, some of the pics are blurred (scholar and the stonemason esp.). That was my fault, I did not focus quickly enough. Sometimes I had to be fast, too fast for an MF lens... _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!

Fantastic shots Carsten! You caught the mood of the day brilliantly, and found some interesting characters. I don't have a favourite, although I do like the "herold" (should that be "herald"?). Did they really wear spectacles in Medieval times? |

@Attila: Yeah, your right, now that you mention it.
@Orio: It really was a nice day. Shame that we had to leave at 12.30.
@Peter: Thanks a lot. Glad you like it. Of course, you're right, that's "herald" (I used the German word.) About the glasses, I was thinking about that and checked Wikipedia. Glasses were invented at the end of the 13th century in Italy (Hello, Orio!). So I guess it's OK when they wear some.
One of the ladies I took a photo of, clandestinally took hear shades off when she saw me. She must have thought that this is no appropriate gear. _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!
