Yesterday night, I heard my wife screaming in the bathroom. I came and there was this big spider on the mirror:

(with my son's face reflection in the mirror, this one was taken with the Pentax 40/2.8 pancake):

I scrambled downstairs and took my faithful APO Lanthar 125/2.5 to do a few close-up shots:

100% crop:

Apologies for the dirty mirror Embarassed.

Cheers!

That poor spider looks like your wife's screaming gave it a scare.

Beautiful. Don't know why the girls can't appreciate them. A lot of them have their eyes encircling their head - useful for seeing threats I suppose. This one must have the most fantastic octonocular vision. I wonder what the advantage of that is.

It looks like the hunstsman indeed. It's the third time I see one inside the house, but I have never seen them jump.

These are borrowed from Thomas Shalan Flickr page. The most amazing part is that he uses an old Takumar 28mm lens mounted reversed on a no-name 2x teleconverter to shoot these gorgeous pictures. Who needs an APO-Lanthar?
