I have to show you my new beauties.
EOS 5 is beautiful. I bought it to use my Zeiss lenses on it. I have the Contax 159MM too to compare the results. ( I know that the film used is the main difference, but I have options in the EOS 5 that could be good)
Canon EOS 5 + Grip
Contax 159MM (with Carl Zeiss Distagon T* 28mm f/2.
The ladies...
Carl Zeiss Distagon 28mm T* 28mm f/2.8 + Carl Zeiss Planar T* 50mm f/1.4 + Carl Zeiss Tele-Tessar T* 200mm f/3.5
And not my new camera but my beloved one Contax 645...

That's a great one. Saying that i knew nothing about Canon nor being interested in buying one, until this weekend i switched with a person owning the Eos30 during a photo trip for a couple of minutes with a 85mm and autofocus + stabilization .
I have to say the AF effect was like : wOw
That said i've been more than impressed and going home i looked on ebay and guess what : i've bought a Canon Eos 5 with a 28-80mm lens to start. Enough to say that i'm pretty impatient to use it.
Sorry for the long read ....
Congrats on the 159 as well, its a rather rare body, the 645 looks amazing as well but too heavy , at leats it seems so. I don't doubt its a great camera.
Enjoy your stuff _________________ Happy owner and user of :

Many thanks.
The EOS 5 has one cool thing. "The eye control". We can focus using our eye.
We look trought the viewfinder to the left and it will use the left focus points, then we look to the right and it will use the right ones...
I don't know how to explain better.
Take a look here:

Page 16
Contax 645 is not really heavy. I think my Canon 5D + Grip is heavier...

I have that on my eos50 & eos3, it is a more gadget than useful
joystick do the same thing on dslr
with manual, I see anywhere on the screen and my left hand immediately focus , much precise and not limited to 9 or 20 squares |

I used to have the 50E with that feature, I never even tried it. Besides you need those AF lenses to use it... _________________ Orio, Administrator

With your Contax lenses?
Orio is, of course, right. Eye focus only works with AF lenses, doesn't it?
BTW, I have bought the 50e from Orio and the AF eye control works great! _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!
