I lost the chance to buy a 250 soligor. Mad

But I found two lenses:

Pentacon 4/200

Tele ennalyt 5,6/300

Price? Not matter.

Only IQ of both. Which is better, if one?

Anyone can help me, please? Thanks in advantage.

Rino.

Hi Rino,

I don't have the Ennalyt 300, but i have a Pentacon 200/4 Preset and a Takumar 200/4. The Pentacon has a nice bokeh and it is sharp once stopped down a little (say, at least 5.6/8 ), not too prone to flare, but with a more pronounced CA when compared to the Takumar 200.

Sorry, but i don't have some sample pics right now to show (must search within my archive DVDs) ...

Cheers

HI Indianadinos!!

Nice to see you here too.

Thanks. In the gallery of the forum, the pics taken with the lens have strong purple fring and minimal green ones.

But I can't find images taken with enna 300 lens. I will look for more carefully.

My best regards.

Rino.

I've the Pentacon. It's sharp at 5.6 and best at F8-11. F4 is usable though. I can't say I've noticed the CA yet.

A good lens for sharpness and saturation is the Auto Chinon 3.5/200. It's usually cheaper than the Pentacon and I found my copy to be far superior to the SMC Tak.

Older or last Type Enna? I would assume the Pentacon is better btw., just my 2 cts.

Thanks Martinsmith99.

Yes, I read this about the 3,5/200, but I don't find it in my country.

Best regards, Rino.

Why don't you buy a Jupiter-21M 4/200?
Costs same or less than the Pentacon and it's (in my opinion) much better.

Orio. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have to buy what's here in Buenos Aires. It's a large history to tell, but I'm limited to my city.

But if I can pick it, I will do.

Rino.

I have the 2 lenses , but my copy of 5,6/300 Ennalyt is "greasy" ... (grease from helical ring has condensed on the inner faces of front and rear elements) I think the 4/200 Pentacon is a very good lens , but Smc-Takumar 4/200 , J-21 are over for contrast , saturation.I have a half-Dozen of very good japanese 200mm such as Mitake Eyemik 3,5/200 , Panagor 3,5/200 , Chinon 3,3/200, Admiral 3,5/200 (rebadged Eyemik) , Revuenon 3,5/200 . These lenses are often underrated and therefore underpriced . The pentacon becomes overrated and overpriced ... Mechanical quality is so-so (diaphragm blades issues) .
But is is "Pentacon" branded ... Mr. Green

Hi Helios.

I don't use tele lens very much, it's the first time that I will buy one for my wife.

Thanks for your suggestion and your time.

I also have the Pentacon 200/4 (15 aperture blades, so the bokeh really is quite nice :-), and can warmly recommend :)
