Apo-Lanthar 3.5/90 (Chris' visit)

Here's a couple of pics that I took with the 5D Mark II and the Voigtlaender Apo-Lanthar 3.5/90 that Chris graciously loaned me last Sunday.

I'll say straight away that for what I could try it, this lens is top notch. I mean REAL top notch.
I place it up there on the same level of my best 85-90 mm lenses like the Biotar 75, Planar 85, Elmarit-R 90.
OK I don't have the state of the art of tele lenses like the APO Leicas but still I think I have a pretty decent collection and this Voigtlaender lens belongs there to full title.
It is perfectly sharp wide open and stopping down only influences the DOF not the image quality, which is a feature that characterizer only the very best lenses.

and here's a couple of 100% crops (wide open):






Note how sharp it is wide open without any sign of optical aberration.
Even a torture test like the second crop, with the falling water backlit wide open, is passed with almost no CA (just very negligible hints). Most of my lenses would have shown much more.
