This photo is taken in low light environment via glass without any Polar filter with Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar 1.5/75mm. Lens is post-war model 1951 slim model. ISO was set to 800 and aperture to 1.5 watch out snake eye can you ever see sharper lens at f/1.5 ? If you would like to see full resolution pic click on pic. Your browser should automatically resize so need a click again to magnify it.

Attila, was this taken with the D50? Very nice, the shallow DOF really
works on these! Eye of the snake is spot-on in focus, too! Wink

Thanks, yes NIKON-D50, this was my first DSLR , I love so much. I don't know Olympus E-1 will be same favourite or not . Till this time I didn't make any good photos with Olympus E-1, hopefully spring coming and I will love E-1 too.

Great qualtity for a 60 years old lens !

To compare (if you agree Attila) below a shot with EF 100 Makro USM. Looks more digital or synthetical.

Excellent shot, Attila. Pity the glass was in the way - though maybe you don't think so - but you managed to avoid any visible reflections.

Biotar 75 is an incredible lens design.
I wonder why the makers have not made an updated version of it, with multicoated glass to minimize the wide open flare (which is the only weak point of the Biotar 75)
Instead, they tried to better on that design, but probably they made the followers worse instead! Laughing
