I got my first roll of slides developped after so much time.
Taken with the Bessa-R and the Jupiter-8.
But when trying to scan in my HPscanjet 3670, I get only marginal results. Later on I discovered that it's a 1200 dpi scanner, so no good results can be achieved.
Time to finally get a replacement one.

Just to show my frustration, a sample:

Regards,

Jes.

There's an obvious problem of the film plane being out of focus in the scanner.
You can try to adjust the distance somehow, or you can photograph your slides using a slide duplicator tube and a digical camera - which will give you better results.

I agree with Orio, I have the same problem with my HP scanner.
1200dpi should be enough, at least for web.

Thanks, Orio and Carlsson.

I'll check the scanner. A local friend of mine has sent me some samples taken by his 1200 dpi EPSON scanner and they are really acceptable compared to mines.

Orio, I tried the slide duplicator option but unfortunately my cameras are APS-C and they crop too much. With a full frame everything would be different....

Jes.

So you could keep your money and buy films. Cool

Even in the soft results of your scanner, you have the information hidden.

The suggestion to adjust the distance is right, you'll get more information from your scanner. Wink

Yes, the 2nd photo is much better. The first one simple does not do justice to the photo. One of the reason I stopped shooting film was my low end scanner could not deliver anything worthwhile.

What about this?:

Scanned on an Epson V350 perfection photo:

I think this scanner is far better than the HP3670....
