Orio

Yet again you haunt us with these great atmospheric shots that take usinto your world. I almost ordered a glass of the birra artigianale! How is it? In the states here we have a whole micro economy of "micro breweries" making excellent beer.

Thanks Smile ISO was 1600 in most shots I think, except the monks pictures where it was 3200 I believe (in the daylight shots, which you don't see here, the ISO was obviously lower)

Yes. Smile I have to say, it was big luck that she was there, but she was framed in on purpose. Initially I wanted to capture the beautiful contrast between the lights (blue in the sky, yellow on the houses and white on the ground). But then I noticed the girl on the left, she was staying there, I thought it was perfect as it did give the scene a theatrical feeling.
So I quickly reframed to include her... and it was a happy choice Smile The camera was still focused on infinity but luckily a 35mm FL is short enough to keep enough DOF also for figures that are about 10 mt away as she was.
I only regret that I could not stop down the aperture more to have also the foreground people in focus. But light was too low and I needed not to use a time slower than 1/250 in order to freeze movement.

Thanks Patrick! I am happy that I can "take you" to new places. Smile How was the beer? I have to confess that I was too busy photographing and I did not drink it Embarassed But I will try it today Very Happy Here there are some few individuals that make beer at home but we don't have neither the tradition nor the ability that you have in brewing beers. So I don't expect a great beer Sad

Thanks, yes these new DSLRs really make it possible to shoot decent pictures at night, a thing which was not possible with the previous generation of DSLRs.
