Hi.

I have the oportunity to buy this lens, but I haven't got any reference about the zeiss zooms...
I supose that one Zeiss Contax lens would be a great lens, but i'm not sure...

Anybody know some util information about this lens??

Thank you so much!

I have this lens,
it is a great lens but it is heavy (730g) and I usually prefer to carry primes
the 35-70 (450g) has a smaller ranger and it is quite small

Look here for what Nadir magazine says about it:

The German photo magazine unanimously praise this lens as one of the best zoom lenses ever produced!
If you don't have to pay a fortune, go for it!

I can confirm that it is a fine performer.
Be warned that what Nadir says about flare is understated.
The big front glass flares more than any Contax lens that I have used but for maybe the planar135.
The lens is not convienent as it is a heavy beast. If you don't mind the weight and can find a Contax Hood #1 go for it.

I suggest to take a 35-70 or better a 40-80 (personal favorite) and also carry a compact 28 such as a ML28 (excellent, tiny, and cheap).
Both of these are excellent zooms and constant aperture.

The one other short zoom is the Contax 28-70. Avoid it. I found that lens to be the least Zeissy of all Zeiss. It could be labeled Sigma but with better coatings.

Buy an unit it's only one proyect...I don't need the lens, but ebay is too bad with me Laughing and I only will bid for it if the price is too low...

The last week I lost one distagon 28/2 because the crappy pc in my mom's house shutted down only one minute after.....
The final price, 300$ for a MINT lens.... Evil or Very Mad

These PCs are evil! They always crash right before a fantastic auction ends!
They never crach when the price is too high anyway!
