I would like to use a compact digital cam as light meter.

Features what I need:
No zoom, quick turn on.
Manual mode , Aperture priority mode.
Small size
Low price , used one for sure.
Any suggestion what should I look for ?

I have a kodak 12 mega.

It's a very good spotmeter (from 36 to 180 mm equivalent in 35 mm), and a good average 35 mm lens view too.

And, always you have a notebook cam of 12 mega to catch places if you haven't your equipment with you.

Rino.

Yes. It is.

But for meter use it will do the job.

Good luck. Rino.

The main problem will be to find one that can work outside full auto mode, that has fixed aperture lens, and that offers good metering modes.

I don't think that the digital camera way is the best way to meter light, consider that even sophisticated reflex cameras often have less-than-ideal metering systems. I don't think that the metering that a compact digital can be any better.

My suggestion is to buy a real hand meter. Even the most basic models of hand meters will offer something that no built-in camera meter will offer: incident light metering. Which is tremendously useful.
It will be an expense that you make once and will keep you happy and productive forever.

P.S. I sent you a PM regarding a very good one
