I am selling one of my two copies of Zeiss Contax Planar 2/135
The two copies perform identically, I am selling the one that is in the best shape (the other one fell on the ground and has a dent on the filter ring).

This copy for sale is in perfect condition (or near perfect if maybe someone goes hunting for tiny paint loss... I don't have it here where I write so I go from memory)

The copy is AEG (AE version made in West Germany) and the price is 650 Euros + shipping + Paypal fee if applies (no fee for bank transfer)

What can I say about this lens... it is sharp wide open. So f/2 is fully useable, not just there for advertisment.
I used it in many occasions and always gave fantastic results, especially if used with a lens hood (it has a big big big front glass and wide open it can pick parasite lateral lights)

here's a photo I took hand-held with the Planar 135 on the 400D in a very scarce light situation:
(sorry for the noise, it comes from the 400D high ISO)

(note the quality of the detail on the guy's clothes - this is the quality this lens delivers wide open)

Very tempting... but a 100mm would be far more usable for me.

Well, the lens is in perfect condition and is practically new because I bought it new (new old stock to be precise) about two years ago. I seldom use it, because I prefer the Planar 1.4/85. For me the 15mm of focal lenght more do not compensate the loss of one stop. But there is people who is crazy about this lens (I mean the 2/100). It is surely more for traditional portraits than the 1.4/85, which is more aggressive. Surely has a lot better bokeh than the 1.4/85, but I personally prefer the image signature of the 1.4/85 though. It's a matter of taste.
