I noticed that exakta mount lenses are cheaper always than m42 same type lenses.

It's possible to mount both types to an eos.

Is this cause of quality-performance issues or the demand of exacta lenses is low?

Exakta lenses have the same body compatibility [Nikon-Canon - Pentax.....using adeptors] of m42 lenses?

I search for "clever" transactions, the budget is getting lower and lower... Cool

Exacta can only be mounted on Canon (if you exclude 4/3 & MFT) using a glassless adapter (without modding). M42 can be mounted on everything, except Nikon, using glassless adapter. Hence, M42 versions have higher demand, hence higher price. Pretty simple Very Happy

Many exakta lenses can NOT be mounted on EOS - I'm speaking of those with the "bulge".
Only the bulgeless lenses can, and even with several of the bulgeless, you can have problem of clearing mirror.

All in all there is a reason why M42 lenses are preferred by DSLR users.

(however there is still a market of Exakta collectioners)
