I have found that one Sonnar lens that I have, and that I believed was broken, is really a collapsible lens Embarassed

I guess that in order to use it properly, I have to extend it to the maximum, and that if collapsed, it will not focus... but before I use a roll with this lens, I'd like to be sure...

By the way, this is probably my oldest lens, it was made in 1936!

The little I've played with them - I don't have one but would love one - yes, you extend it and twist it to lock it in place. There probably is an infinity stop on the focus as well, which you'd need to defeat to focus closer.

Yeah Nester has it.
If it is the little Sonnar 2/50 you do indeed just slide it forward and give a twist.
Use the thumb wheel for focus with this lens rather than the barrel so as not to move it.

thanks Smile
it does not lock, but if you rotate it all the way, it does not go down by simply pulling (which it does if not rotated completely).

Yeah, that is the lock Laughing
I expected it to click in the first time I used mine as well.

pulling = pushing
(I always confuse the two verbs) Embarassed
