Time to buy color film to try it, although the weather report says better to wait until mid May....

My friend Paco has lent me a set of TLR telephoto lenses. They look niece on my YashicaMat:

Shot with the EOS 10D and the Industar-61 M42 lens, on top of the DVD Technick M42 adapter.

I didn't know that Yashica Mat has interchangeable lens, looks like a great set!

Is it Bayonet-I?

I also saw some generic looking wide-lenses a while ago but they looked so worn I didn't buy.

Those auxiliary tele lenses do look intriguing - I'd guess the image quality suffers a bit, maybe less than with a wide angle aux lens. I have a generic close up lens set (made in India, it looks like) that I've used a couple of times... which reminds me, I ought to take the TLR out a bit more...

Can you get sample photos using the tele lenses?

Hi Orio,

No they really are not replaceable, just snap-on...
Not bad quality, even being so.

Regards,

Jes.

Thanks Poilu, I've got great expectations on this set. The Yashicamat performed well, but this lens open new possibilities...

Yes, it is!.
I got an adapter Bayonet-I to 49mm thread, to use standard filters and hoods.

The wideangle lenses are scarce but if you can find an original one, they are really good performers...

Still looking for them....

Regards.

Yes, of course. I'm going to buy some color film this afeternoon, (probably Fuji Superia), I don't want to try it with B&W film because developing is a problem. (No lab is doing a fine developing B&W these days, and doing it by myself is a risk Smile ).

It will take me some days to get the samples, but they will be coming Wink

Regards.

Jes.

The lens set looks very interesting. I saw a wide-angle set on Ebay recently but decided against getting them on the advice of someone else. They sold for GBP 46.00, I guess there is a high demand Shocked

I look forward to your test results Very Happy

For GBP 46.00 they're probably best left alone! Not exactly a Rollei Mutar, I fear. A fairly small change to focal length is all you get.

I think that originally they were sold in a combo-set, the wide-angle and tele both together in a leather-look case. They came with different names on them and at a range of prices., the Yashica set being among the more expensive. The Yashica ones were almost certainly as good as you got with these simple afocals which were relatively cheap to buy - unlike the Mutars which were very costly and enormous.
