I didn't have a good day either. Bid on four, only won 1. 2 of them I lost to bids at the same exact highest bid price!!!! One, I lost by a dozen Euros, but still I'm curious about this Sonnar:

Anybody can tell me what it is? Early model?? Before or after Zebra?

I have one more coming up in a couple of hours Very Happy

50's copy so predates zebra finish - you can tell by the shape and the aperture scale markings.

Zebra ran from around the mid to late 60's to the mid 70's although there were brief excursions within that time into the all black finish similar to that used up until the end of the GDR.

AFAIK the alu finish lenses had generally been replaced with a black finish coupled with two types of vulcanite focus ring: pip and leatherette style by the early to mid 60's although there were a few crossover lenses where they presumably used up remaining stocks of older parts. Curiously, the last version of the Biotar 75 which was still available up to about the mid 60's was never updated from it's alu finish.

Nothing that I seriously wanted to buy, I suppose Wink
When I see a lens that I am interested in, but not desperately, I just try to place a "middle range" bid, and see how it ends. Most of the time I lose Wink But if I win, I make a bargain Wink

I bid 2 Leica:

1 Summilux 50/1.4
1 Summicron 50/2

I didn't win any...

I don't want to spend much money but I really need a 50mm because I sold all of mine to get money for 5D Mark II.

I saw that two too "cheap" and I tried but in the last minutes they were bombed by bids...

I'm looking for a Takumar 50mm 1.4 (any version) in mint condition and good price. If someone want to sell pm me Smile

Damn, now I'm wishing I put in a bit more as my max bid Shocked

I saw this at the last minute (well, last 1 hour or so) and didn't want to risk much on a lens I hadn't seen before (for all I knew, it could've been a Jena copy Very Happy ). Now I just feel like a dunce for putting in only 71€ Laughing

Thanks all for the info, I won't miss it the next time (although something tells me another deal like this may not come around for quite a while).

AAAAAND, I just lost my final bid of the day. Very cool looking bellows unit; was $0.99 till the last couple of minutes, so I was pretty confident with my $25 bid. Didn't quite work out Laughing
