Hi all,

Thanks for the comments ...

The lens is made by Cosina, on the cheap side, with a full plastic barrel. It is available under the Phoenix, ProMaster and Vivitar brands (and probably Cosina, too) ... It seems to be not as sharp as a Pentax or Canon 100 macro, but according to a review read somewhere on the net, its CA is better controlled than on its rivals ...

The only issue i have with it is that to achieve the 1:1 ratio an additional diopter is required. The good news is that, as hin_man pointed out on his blog, ProMaster still sells the diopter for 20US$, and that it perfectly works with other 49mm threaded lenses ...
BTW, here are some pics of the lens:





And compared in size to my FA-43 ...


I paid 60$ for it, but i think i saw it somewhere at 100US$, brand new ...
