Thanks to my brother for providing his 5D Mk II..
So, there are only TWO things to be worried about: -- distortion and flare -- it's visible on one picture
This is a small gallery of pictures taken at Winchester Cathedral -- very nice subject and also Winchester is the ancient capital of England..

I didn't do an exposure fusion and also my stand is a crap -- I need a better one..
Some adjustments done in Adobe LightRoom and then a few clicks in Photoshop..
I think they are not the best ones..
Please, I am providing FULL SIZE pictures here, so have a patient..

Attila I am giving you a right to publish these as a samples for this forum because I am glad to be a member of this.
Please, if you can, just put the name TRIFOX on them with a copyright and 2009
..or I may do that, if this can wait ...

The files are 20Mb and should be perfect, have you checked your workflow.
I believe 5DII can do more otherwise it is time to use some film to really enjoy this lens |

I see what you mean. I see this type of course pixelization in the 50D images too sometimes. I think it is related to the new type of DIGIC processors. I never had that with the 5D and never did with the 400D. _________________ Orio, Administrator

Maybe Tf used jpg instead of raw and digic made his 'magic'
On the Sony sensors, some noise reduction are made before the raw and are awful @100% but I think the Canon files are still untouched
Or the noise reduction are not at 0 in the raw conversion software
I expect perfection from a D21 and Tf samples are badly 'digits' |

No shaving of the 5D Mk II mirror is required for any Zeiss lenses I have got ..
It works fine..

Well, all pictures taken in RAW mode. The conversion might have been affected by my processing
I will try it again and send one example once again...
Thanks for comments ...
@ Orio -- I have heard about people they returned their 5D Mk ii and went back for old 5D -- it might be a reason for that ... _________________ Flickr.com |

Trifox, if you would like to share one RAW file of this series, I can try and see how it does here - I have the experience of the 50D files to compare.
By the way I don't think it's a matter of Trifox's conversion - I rather think it's more likely a matter of exposure and perhaps ISO settings. _________________ Orio, Administrator

here's my conversion. I used the first file because it was more exposed to the right so I could recover a better dynamic range.
My contrast style is a bit different from Trifox's (who shoot with minimum contrast), I prefer to use more contrast even if it means to lose a little at both ends of the histogram. It's an aesthetical choice, not without drawbacks.
I also changed the white balance to a value that would fit better my taste. For the rest, I did not make any postwork except resize, so if you notice differences in the image quality of the 100% crops (posted in the Oversize Gallery), they are only due to the different RAW conversion program. I use Breezebrowser Pro:
