estudleon: The viewfinder cam will need some cleaning, it's quite dirty inside, but it works It's quite interesting, that the body doesn't carry any single symbol or logo. Mount is a bit similar to exacta, but slightly smaller and probably made from brass...
kds315*: Different sources. Night exacta is from Ebay (so it was the most expensive camera of these 4 ), the newer exa is from Czech shop (a member from a Czech forum helped me to get it - thanks ), and the Contax and old viewfinder camera is from local auction.

Fantastic set!
Wow!
It will be great to see results on some good slides.
No idea on the VF cam.
It looks like a standard Leica but that mount I don't get it.
Maybe some old timer camera repair man will have a clue.
Post a pic over here: http://www.kyphoto.com/cgi-bin/forum/discus.cgi
Someone there will have a clue.
I'm curious what you find out.
Congrats again _________________ Moderator |

The body of the VP is in quite good condition mechanicaly, but I'll have to banish the colony of agarics, which dwells inside for the last fifty years.
Lens is in a bit worse condition. Front element has some finger prints on the inner surface, which cannot be cleaned, but it shouldn't affect performance visibly. One surface of the second element seems to be coated ( ), but the coating is a bit degradated, so it's a lottery.
I'll ask Alex for adapter. The thread of the lens is likely 39.8/0.75mm, so it should be teoretically possible to fit it in the smaller M42 helicoid with adapter ring. I'll check, how the lens performs and if the results will be any better, than milky-foggy something, I'll let clean the built-in focusing helicoid of the body (the lens has no focusing, it's built into the body).
After testing the lens, eating mushroom soup and cleaning the helicoid, I'll buy a roll of slide and test it _________________ (almost) complete list of Helios lenses |
