The Cosinon 40/2.5 and *istDS.

The *ist DS in chrome is very sexy and of course a great choice for the old silver lenses.

Maybe you are interested in the SMC Pentax-DA 40/2.8 or the SMC Pentax-M 40mm f/2.8? Even smaller than the Cosinon.

DA would be nice. Does anybody here have one?

M40 is indeed 2mm shorter than cosinon:)

Haven't done any real tests, but here's a 100% crop sample at F2.5 and F5.6.
Default settings in ACR.

F2.5

F5.6

The K10D with grip is hardly pocketable Laughing So I'm looking for a dS to hook the DA40 Ltd to for my backup/pocket cam Smile

Cosinon vs. Pentax

Chinon made one too (a pancake lens) but that's 45mm not 40.

The Cosinon can be found under the Porst label and the Chinon as Revuenon.

Unfortunately these lenses, especially the Pentax, are pretty expensive (sometimes it overpases even the Pentax-M 50mm f:1.4 ) Sad
