My house was broken into a week ago Saturday and both my Sony DSC-V1s, working ones, got stolen, among cash, clothes, knives, etc. The
above shot is from a replacement I got yesterday morning, looks like I
have another shooter.

Have 4 more shots to finish the roll in this cam:

And I'm really liking this little Oly XA rangefinder:

and a pic of the little guy:

Using cheap Walgreens 400 film, scanned at 2400dpi on Epson 4490.

Yes, that sounds good! The officer that came to the scene says nothing
like this ever happens where I live, just speeding tickets and fatalities
from lesser-skilled drivers. Talking to my insurance agent, northern
Alabama has many incidents of breaking and entering. So, last Saturday
I had installed a heavy-duty metal-clad door and just a peephole, no
window. Really miss not having a window in the door, but decided to go
this route.

Thanks, Attila, for your commiseration and comments. Today a shipment
of Ektar film that was backordered arrived. Smile

Sorry to read this, Bill.
At least it seems they did not steal the older gems.

I think the thief or thieves were on foot, didn't seem to want any heavy
items. They did break three of my cameras by throwing them to the
floor when they found out they weren't digital. Mad

So sorry to hear that. I guess these desperate economic times are driving people to nasty things.

Agree, the rumble I hear is to expect more of this kind of thing, a legacy
left by our former president who lives in a nice, gated, secured, compound.

Comfort Bill.

I got burglary last week too, but I was more unfortunate than you as they stole all my Pentacon Six gear, the Oly e410 and some huge (fortunately cheap) telephoto lenses.

Positive side I took a shopping compulsive syndrome on eBay Very Happy

Well, I prefer SOB, as in sonofabitch! Laughing I still have my health, the
door is replaced, things could've been much worse.

Yes. Here many times ending really bad especially in villages.

I don't have insurance, and anyway the total loss would be around 1200-1500 euro at max, so it would be under most insurance contracts minimal value (or around it).

Ouch, Alessandro! My deductible is only $100, and everything in and on
my house is insured. I bank with a military bank where you have to be
stationed overseas to join, which I did way back in '88, and they offer
unbeatable insurance at a very low monthly premium.

Sorry Alessandro, I know how you loved your P6 equipment. Crying or Very sad

Well, I got burglars too last month - they stole a few paintings from my father collection when the house was still not inhabited.
Difference from you - they were not common burglars - they picked the best paintings available only - so they were expert persons. I am pretty sure they were amongst those to whom I showed the paintings trying to sell them. But it's a problem now to find out who. Besides, they did not break the door - they knew where I did hide the keys. Luckily, the very best paintings were not there. But still, i lost some thousands of Euros.

Geez, Orio, that sucks big time! Do you have any digital images of the
paintings stolen?

What awful news from three of you!. When my house was burglarized some years ago it was the feeling of violation more than the losses (all my wife's jewelry) that hurt. My sympathies to you all

Yes, of some I have.
But it's not easy. Here police does not really work well.

Same for me Patrick.
Also, I am more sorry for the fact that one of those paintings was a gift by my father. I am sorry more about that than for the value itself.

I'm definitely the most fortunate of the three, but the feeling of violation
is there. I have this recurring vision of driving down my long driveway
to discover the lights on in the back, the broken windows in the door,
with my wife's "ladies shovel" leaning beside it. Mad

Orio, I've talked to 2 other people that have been burgled and they never
recovered any of their property. I don't think these cases are a big priority with the police.

So sorry to read all this, my condolences to all three of you. We were burgled about 10 years ago so I understand the feeling of violation as well as loss of things you treasured. I'm just thankful I wasn't there at the time to get hurt. I got over the loss quite quickly and I'm sure you will too.
