I have a potential customer who asks me if a M42 lens will fit on a A700 camera and also asks me to indicate an adapter.

Do any of you have the answers please?

You will have no problem with that combination. Also the viewfinder on A700 is very good.

You can use A700 in M and A mode. Together with A100 is A700 the only models from Sony allowing this without clipped adapters.

Some adapters have problems reaching infinity, I use this eBay seller; the thickness of his adapters is just right, so there will be no problem using them. Chipped adapters are good to from him as well.
