1. Today, at around 14:00, the bell rings. It's the courier who brings me a package I put it on the bookshelf:
2. OK, on with the scissors
3. Inside, the usual mess...
4. ... from which I take out a box and the three extra years of guarantee that I purchased:
5. Inside the box, first appears a pack with no less than FOUR user manuals in different languages. What a waste, Canon!
6. Below it, a promising padded thing and some cables:
7. And under the cables... other cables! And the battery, the charger, the neckstrap, et c.:
8. And finally I took out everything!
9. The camera. The dimensions are equal to those of the 5D. This is very good. Still a bit small to grasp for my long fingers, but 95% of cameras are anyway:
10. Being used to the 5D's huge viewfinder, I must admit that I felt a delusion when I looked through that of the 50D, but that had to be expected. In the past I (very immodestly speaking) took many good pictures with the 400D which had an even smaller one. So no problem:
So now I can really say to myself "happy birthday" even if 2 days too early
And this is it for now. Maybe later I'll have some samples _________________ Orio, Administrator

Hi Orio,
Firstly, happy birthday!!! I really hope you enjoy your new toy.
...and secondly, after picture number 4, not much of a surprise, is it???
I dont want to to be bad or anything to you but I hope you weren´t expecting to get a 5D MK II after you had the sealed box in your hands at that point
(I am just kidding)
All the best and happy birthday.

Thanks guys My birthday is not today, it's Saturday.
This has been just an anticipation It allows me to use the 50D for two days while I'm still 46 !
As for the 5D2... I'm sure it's a great camera, but I can not afford it now, so I don't think about it.
Plus I am extremely happy with my old 5D. Look at this picture that I took yesterday:
There is no HDRI there. It is the native dynamic range of the 5D.
How could I really wish a different camera than this one?
The 50D will complete my shooting set for live events, that was lacking a tele lens camera since I sold my 400D
But my flagship will remain the 5D. _________________ Orio, Administrator

The 50D is a great birthday present. I'm very happy for you.
Now lets see some pictures from it. I'm anxious to see what the new camera produces with the new technology. _________________ Ron |

This is great isn't it? The doorbell rings... the tension rises..could it be?Then the package... oh, yes, it's the one...quickly unpack... no, wait, go and get the cam... I have to shoot that... and then: here it is!
I wish all the fun you deserve (and you deserve a lot!) with this cam.
I am sure you will really enjoy it! _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!
