I got same result , very nice normal lens , unusable crap in macro mode.

The macro sunflower seed is very disappointing. I'm sure you don't need a tripod. I think that it's just soft.

Good soft focus lens in macro range Wink no macro at all.

Well, at least, it saved me the trouble to disassemble the lens to check if the previous owner hadn't inverted a lens while cleaning it (I saw signs of tampering on the front ring).

Mine is fully mint, untouched. I found this lens is a good 100mm lens, if you forget macro feature more than a good one.
