The lens is beautiful to see, but frankly speaking the image samples don't look so great to me. If I had the money I would prefer and buy the Sonnar for sure.

It is interesting that Zeiss did not revive the 2.8/90 from the Contax G series.
It seems more and more that the decision to go with a 4/85 was a marketing one.
This way the guys who want the Sonnar but won't pay the Monster price (which seems to have dropped BTW) will buy this one.
Then the dissatisfaction will lead to buying the 2/85 in the end anyway. And zeiss sells two lenses Laughing

I bet that further tests and using film this tessar will prove quite nice. Smile
