I don't know where to start the next RF lens, but it is good for some people
who freshly start this type of photography (ie. Rangefinder) this lens is
not rangefinder coupled (which means rangefinder does not work with this
lens) unfortunately. But new model of this same lens now has rangefinder
coupled, called Snap Shot Skopar 4/25 P and M-mount, which may or may
not good for your L-mount camera such as older Leica and Bessa-L and R.

Anyway you can focus relatively easily with this wide angle lens which has
very deep DoF. Apology first, I cannot find good photos by this lens, and
hard to find photo not in my HP page for this lens.

1) with Fuji Reala (used to be my office a long ago, was making programs)

2) with Fuji Reala (subway station, I always went every morning, under renovation)

3) with Fuji Reala (used to be my neighbourhood, cold winter day)

4) with Fuji Reala (old city hall of Toronto, made some perspective adjustment by PSE)

5) @f5.6? w M8 (to show DoF)

6) @f4? w M8 (nice 3D effect)

7) @f5.6 or 8 w M8 (my feticism<sp> with phi, this lens has almost no distortion)

These Voigtlaender lenses all seem very good and ridiculously sharp, Koji.
I only have the Ultron for now, but I am impressed by how sharp it is, even on super cheap negative film. I have made a Kodak Elite roll now, and I am curious about the result, but I already know it will be very sharp.
I really don't understand why/how Cosina could build a bad reputation, they seem to be well aware of how to produce great lenses.
I personally love great lenses regardless of the name that is on them. So I will buy more of these lenses if a good purchase opportunity will present.

They also relieve me a lot about the new Zeiss Z series. I think these Voigtlaender lenses prove that Cosina has the skill to make lenses just as good as Kyocera did.

Very nice from this little lens.
#4 is an especially impressive shot.
So far I have only used this lens for some high ISO B+W shoots. It is time that it gets a try on the DRF.
The lens itself is really very nice and has a couple of interesting features.
The focus ring has a small round tab on it for easy adjustments. It also has 3 click stops.
These click stops can help make quick work of hyperfocal adjustments.
With these stops you basically have 3 ranges to choose from for focus.
If you memorize DOF for given aperature (see Orio's chart Wink ). Quick adjustments are easy.
While shooting in an active "street" scene this is a very handy feature.
Of course the focus is adjustable anywhere in between these clicks also.
Another feature I like is the built in hood and filter threads.
For many, filters will not be important. For B+W film shooters they are not replaceable by any other means.
The filter threads for this lens are actually inside the hood. When a filter is installed it fits neatly within the hood and does not add anymore depth as if it was stacked below the hood (no vignetting issues). A small thing but useful and cool.
It's a sweet little lens and with the matching external VF a perfect match to the Bessa L
Cool

Sorry to jump in with so much blah blah Koji Embarassed I really like this lens and wanted to share these key features Smile

@Andy

It is pretty good thing that you added more information of this little lens
so that "potential" RFer can prepare what s/he is expecting from the lens.
My post is always short of something, because I'm very impatient. Sad

(I was born in the middle of downtown Tokyo, Edokko (Tokyoner in modern
days) is supposed to be impatient, and love watching street fighting and fire.)

Will go slower with more info for each lens, and more photos including
photo of lens itself I hope. Smile

Another fine set, Koji! Since you probably own both the 12mm and 15mm
Heliars, would I be better off to simply wait till I can acquire the 12mm?
I'm a wide-aholic! Kind of strange since I've lost 45 pounds. Laughing

This would be for my non-RF Bessa L. Wink

Bill,

I don't have 12mm, but love wide angle lenses.
Maybe the next post will be CV SWH 4.5/15mm. Smile

Koji,
Congrats for these fine shots!.
I like all of them, it's difficult to choose a favourite, probably the buildings and the pipes ones are the ones I like more.
Excellent colours.
Good job!.

Jes.

That an interesting focal range, 25mm. Wider than 28mm but not with the extreme superwide effect of a 19mm lens. Very nice!

I love the 24-25 mm FL
